In Print
Just a few days after creating my book online it arrived in the post. First impression was that it's very well constructed, with pages firmly bound together and a decent hard cover. I'd picked a range of photos to see how they cope with a range of tones, and I'm more than impressed with the results. One of the darkest images I had came out very clearly with no loss of details.
The paper that the images are printed on is pretty thick. I went for the matte option for the paper, and it's as good as the prints I've entered for competitions in the past. It all looks incredibly professional.
Any downsides? As a lowly paid school worker I may have previously baulked at the thought of paying almost £40 for a photo book, but when I considered that I was getting 26 pages for that, and having them in a book does look pretty fantastic, I would now happily pay this for something that is decent quality. I'll definitely be using saal-digital again.
Update: Until the end of August you can get £15 off the cost of a photo book by visiting this link: http://www.saal-digital.co.uk/photobooks/
